How Laser Lipo Works

  • Tumescent anesthesia is administered to minimize pain and discomfort. This liquid contains a numbing agent called lidocaine that ‘freezes’ the treatment area plus adrenaline to reduce bleeding and swelling.
  • One hour later once the anesthetic has taken effect, a small cannula (2.0mm in diameter) is inserted under the skin to begin the fat removal process.
  • The ultrasonic vibrations from the cannula assist with breaking down the fibrous septae while the fat tissue is being suctioned away.
  • A Smart Lipo probe is then used to further liquefy fat, for easier removal from the body.
  • The laser energy from Smart Lipo produces specifically targets dermis, stimulating collagen production and remodeling. As the skin heals, it starts to look smoother and tighter.

    What is tumescent liposuction?

    TOPAL™ or tumescent liposuction is a procedure where a sterile saline solution containing medication is administered prior to treatment. The tumescent solution assists with pain management, minimizes bleeding, balances PH acidity levels and allows for easier fat removal.

    What is 360 Lipo?

    Many people are unhappy with the ‘boxy’ shape around their middle. 360 Lipo refers to reshaping and contouring the midsection to achieve a more pleasing hourglass figure. This may include sculpting the abs, love handles and bra/back area.

    What is laser lipolysis?

    Laser lipolysis is a minimally-invasive technique that uses laser energy to liquefy and break down fat tissue for easier removal during liposuction. The procedure also produces tighter, firmer skin by boosting collagen production. In most cases general anesthesia is not required and patients can resume their normal activities the next day.

    What is SmartLipo™?

    The SmartLipo™ is a patented technique that uses laser heat to liquefy fat and seal small blood vessels. This results in fat removal in smaller areas with considerably less swelling, bruising and overall trauma to the skin.

    Who is a candidate for laser lipolysis?

    The ideal candidate is a man or woman, over the age of 18, who is healthy and within 20-25 lbs of their ideal body weight. Laser lipo is a body contouring treatment that targets stubborn fat deposits or bulges that don’t respond to dietary changes or exercise. 

    SmartLipo™ works best on smaller areas such as face liposuction and neck liposuction, particularly where thermal energy is necessary for tissue contraction and tightening.

    How much weight will I lose?

    Since fat weighs much less than muscle and bone, the scale is not a good indicator of your liposuction results. After the swelling subsides, most people will notice that the treated areas have been reduced by one dress size.

    What is the liposuction cost?

    Small areas such as double chin liposuction start at $3500. Larger areas or 360 Lipo can cost $7500 and up. We offer a reduced fee when multiple areas are being treated at the same time.

    What is the recovery period?

    Since laser lipo is less invasive than traditional liposuction, most patients can go back to work the next day. In some cases, however, 2-7 days of rest may be needed.

    Laser lipolysis can be used to reduce unwanted fat around the abdomen, love handles, arms, legs, neck, double chin, cheeks, inner thighs, outer thighs and bra area. Patients can see a noticeable result after one week; however, the healing process can take anywhere from to 6 -12 months.

    Are there any complications with SmartLipo?

    As with any surgical procedure, complications can occur. These include: swelling, bruising, bleeding, temporary discomfort, scarring, burn, infection or seroma.     How many treatments do I need?
