Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are a fairly common bodily condition. They
pose absolutely no health risk, and do not affect bodily
function in any way. What's more, they can be easily remedied.
Stretch marks usually occur wherever fat is stored, such
as the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, thighs, and buttocks.
As our body ages, our skin loses a lot of its elasticity.
When we gain weight, the skin is stretched, and subsequently
gains stretch marks as it is pulled over the excess body
fat. There are many treatments available for stretch marks,
and laser surgery is one of the newest. In this procedure,
laser light is used to fade the stretch mark. Laser treatment
is most effective in the early stages of the stretch mark.
Adjusting
one's diet, exercise regimen, and vitamin intake can also
help to reduce stretch marks. Feel free to ask Dr. El-Attar
about any recommendations he may have for you.
